A typical Essex coasting barge she is 65 registered tons and measures 85.6ft long and 19.5ft wide. Her rig is typical of a true trading barge unlike many re-rigged barges that have large gear for racing.
Trading under sail until the late 1950’s, she was rigged again as a holiday charter vessel at Maldon in 1965. We bought her in 1974 and since 1977 we have extensively restored and rebuilt her. She celebrated her Centenary in 1995.
She now takes people on weekend sailing trips as well as operating as a charter barge.
She regularly takes part in annual barge races and sails from several ports in Essex, Kent and Suffolk.
