Current Work
'Pudge' is the current focus of our efforts. Put into dry dock at Rick Cardy's yard at Maylandsea in October 2005, she spent 18 months there. The shipwrights worked hard to replace the after half of her planking on both sides. Volunteers chipped, scraped, hammered, painted, built, repaired, cleaned, engineered...
Refloated in May 2007, we have concentrated on smaller jobs while she earned her keep and showed off her new lines. Fund-raising has become a priority, through Open Days, merchandise sales, donations and grant applications. As of winter 08/09, we need to raise over £150,000 to replace her runs and decks.
Past Work
Keeping our Barges going is a non-stop job. Both have been the subject of big restoration projects. To see more about the restoration of each Barge, visit the individual Barge's pages.
