Introducing Pudge Project
Pudge is currently undergoing the final stages of her restoration by the Trust since she was purchased in 1968 from the London & Rochester Trading Company Limited.
She is based at the yard of K J Finch Shipwright Limited at Fullbridge where she will have new decks, coamings, beams and ceilings replaced along with an upgrade to her below deck accommodation.
This work is being funded partly from a grant from the Lottery Heritage Fund but also from members donations and grants from charitable trusts including Essex Heritage Trust, Garfield Weston, Foyle Foundation and Trinity House.
The work to remove her fittings began during the summer of 2019 by volunteers and she moved into dry dock in May 2020 for the major works to begin.
A viewing gallery is available on site for the public to view the work as it takes place.
