This year, the award-winning Maldon Brewing Company has decided to name its monthly special beers after Thames barges based in Maldon. Pudge will feature during April. You might find them on sale at a pub in Essex which sells local real ales, or you can buy them in bottles from the brewery direct, which is situated in the old stable yard behind the Blue Boar Hotel in Silver Street, Maldon (CM9 4QE).
Below are some tasting notes for the beer.
This is a golden ale (ABV 3.9%) with a traditional European style hop which gives a delicate floral character with soft citrus notes. The release of this beer has been timed to coincide with preparations to take Pudge over to Dunkirk for the 75th anniversary of Operation Dynamo.
