BARGES:

ASPHODEL of Portsmouth. Built 1900 by Gill & Sons of Rochester. Her trading days ended as a gunpowder barge. Plans drawn by J.M. Russell from measurements by him with L.E. Zouch in 1963, when the barge was in our ownership as the T.B.S.C. The sail plan was the work of Fred Cooper prepared in 1964.

WESTMORELAND of London Built  1900 by Archie White of Conyer for Eastwoods the Brickmakers. Given to the T.S.B.C in 1963. Broke her back stranded on a lighter at Hoo in 1973. Wreck sold to Colin Frake who rebuilt bows.
Plans drawn by R.S Wood in 1968/9 when owned by T.S.B.C.

JAMES PIPER of London Built by Pipers of Greenwich in 1894. She was a known winner in a number of barge matches. Plans drawn by Gordon, F. Weddell in 1958.

LADY OF THE LEA (River Lea Navigation Barge). Built Greenwich in 1931 for transporting explosives for WD from Waltham Abbey. Stumpie rigged with tiller steering. Plan drawn by Peter Ferguson in1975 from original barge & builders plans.
